Professional Freelance Writer – Briana Palma – WordPress Site Launch

You might have heard that I’ve been away on holiday and reviewing the WordPress for Android app but in the meantime the gears of WordPress web design progress have still been turning. The latest bit of WordPress work has now been completed for Briana Palma who is a professional freelance writer based in Dublin but originally hailing from Boston.

Briana got in touch as she wanted her old WordPress site to be given a bit of a facelift and and an SEO overhaul – bread and butter for myself and Niall. The first thing we did was to ensure that her hosting was suitable for the job and given that she is a professional freelance writer both stateside and here in Ireland we went for a US based host.

The WordPress theme Briana chose for her site is a minimalistic, clean and concise which puts her text content front and centre on the homepage. Given that she is a professional freelance writer and editor this approach definitely makes sense. There is then a neat and tidy portfolio section which highlights some of her previous work. And, proving that it is a small world, one of her posts is about Tamp & Stitch, a company that I came across and did some work with during my LadyUmbrella days.

The site itself is limited in the number of pages that it has but this doesn’t limit its functionality. Each page can be shared using the Sharexy WordPress Plugin and social icons in the footer make it easy for people to find Briana on Twitter and LinkedIn. A simple yet effective contact page then makes it easy for potential clients to reach out and get in touch with Briana.

All in all this upgraded and improved site will serve as a useful brochure site for Briana and it was a pleasure to work with here on this job. We hope her new site brings her lots of business. Check it out below!
