Some blog posts are more serious than others, this one wouldn’t fall into that category but it is an important post none the less. This post is the 101st blog post I’ve published to the site since going live. It’s nice little milestone and one worth marking, using for averages (I love averages) and a bit of a pep talk. Listen up ;)
The very first post to this site was on July 15th 2013 – called Social Media Logo A Go Go (I’ve always had a way with titles haven’t I? ;)) and was posted before the site was actually finished. After having a quick read of I get a sense of nostalgia and that nothing has changed – this post in effect is very similar to my first. Anyway, I digress. That post was posted 69 weeks ago or 483 days to be more exact. That means I’ve published one blog post on average every 4.7 days – a rate which has dipped as of late due to client workload. And, in that I think you can make a bit of an extrapolation.
Blog Post 101 and an Intense Pep Talk!
Oftentimes the best way to do that is to create useful sharable content like:
- Onsite SEO Tips – 583 social shares
- Blog Tips from Mike Allton – over 1,600 social shares
- How To Get Over 250 Shares on Google Plus – over 1,800 social shares
- Google Authorship & Publisher – What’s the Difference? – over 1,800 social shares
The above are just a few examples of posts which have done well and each of them created tons of traffic, backlinks and fed into the overall SEO of the site which then in turn helps lift the organic rankings. And organic rankings are key, the majority of the business I’ve obtained has come from organic traffic.
If you’re new to blogging or trying to start an online business take some stock of the above. It took a while for this site to start generating leads and it took a lot of time and effort to write the blog posts, build the social network and tweak the SEO to get it right. However, once you get it right it is worth the time and effort. Put your shoulder to the wheel, get into the SEO gym and fearlessly blog forward to your blog post no.101!
Well in hindsight, I guess this post was a bit more serious than anticipated at the start but I hope you could handle the pep talk intensity ;) If you think I can help you or your business out then get in touch and if you don’t want to miss out on future posts jump on my mailing list below.
