Social Media Management – LadyUmbrella

This is where it all started for me. LadyUmbrella is a t-shirt business I set up in 2008 with a Spanish designer called Elena Montes Casado. As the business was primarily based online I focused a lot of time on developing the social media platforms for LadyUmbrella – with a focus on Facebook and Twitter. Within 2 years both of those platforms had gained over 8,000 follows/likes and our social media efforts resulted in us selling thousands of t-shirts and shipping to over 30 countries around the world. Aside from time, there was no marketing expense at all.

Whilst working on LadyUmbrella I also focused on blogging as I view it as a key part of any social strategy. The blog I wrote was nominated for an Irish Blog award for 2 years in a row and we finished in the Top 5 Blogs for a Business in 2011 – I was chuffed :)From my social media management of LadyUmbrella I was also asked to give a number talks on Twitter and Facebook around the country – a thoroughly enjoyable affair.At the moment the LadyUmbrella accounts are temporarily inactive as LadyUmbrella takes a back seat whilst I focus on this current project. They’ll come back to life soon though once the planned redesign of the LadyUmbrella website takes place but in the meantime feel free to check them out.
