E-Commerce WordPress Site Launch – LadyUmbrella.com
Posted on January 23, 2014
Have just launched an e-commerce WordPress site for LadyUmbrella.com, an online women’s clothing and t-shirt company, based in Ireland. The eCommerce WordPress site is fully responsive and the eCommerce element is powered by WooCommerce.
I’ve done a few e-Commerce WordPress sites in the past but for full disclosure I have to state that LadyUmbrella.com is a business I started in 2009. Originally the site was built using .asp, .php and SQL but making the transition to an e-commerce WordPress platform has been a breath of fresh air. I’ve been able to experience is from both sides – as a client and a developer – and I can say that e-commerce WordPress sites are great!

As usual with all WordPress site launches I made sure that the site has solid on-site SEO. Given that it’s an e-commerce WordPress site there are lot’s of opportunities to get some keywords in place but I’m going to continue to try refine. WooCommerce has a lot of features to it so I’m sure as I continue to research WooCommerce and SEO I’ll find a few more SEO nuggets.
The design of the site was overseen by the graphic designer we work with – Elena Montes. She chose the theme, site and page layout and then provided all the graphics and artwork. Elena is also the designer and creator of LadyUmbrella and I’m happy to report that she is happy with the new site.
This e-Commerce WordPress site is also fully responsive and sales have already been received via mobile users – nothing like shopping whilst on the go I suppose. One of the nice features of an e-commerce WordPress site is the dynamic nature of it. That is to say that it’s possible to quickly display certain products which fit certain criteria – like the new arrivals section picture above for example. You can view the full site here
